Betrayed Wives Recovery Group Guidelines
1. Confidentiality is a must!!!
All members, conversations and shared information is to remain only between group members. No “crosstalk” between groups (including support group), no social media posts, no names or details mentioned to anyone outside of group – including church, friends and family.
2. Attendance and participation required.
This group requires a six-month commitment of:
• Weekly meeting attendance with cameras on
• Daily written work
• At least two verbal check-ins per week. Be prepared to stay engaged for the entirety of the group to obtain full and complete healing. Connection is vital to healing!
*If you miss three consecutive recovery meetings, you will be removed from the Marco Polo and GroupMe for your specific group and encouraged to join the next Recovery Group. (You may remain in the support group)
3. Be courteous.
We want to operate under the umbrella of grace. We are not here to judge, but to support and uplift each other through the pain and hurt of sexual betrayal, showing God’s love towards one another. This includes being mindful of our allotted time together and staying on topic during meetings, avoiding “rabbit trails.”
4. No fixing.
Examples: Diagnosing someone; telling them what they should or should not do; advising (without being asked) on marital and personal issues.
5. Avoid derogatory talk about spouse.
Examples: Name calling, making fun of, cutting down. (Situational sharing and sometimes venting about a spouse is understood.)
6. Please attend the meetings dressed modestly:
– Sleeves are required
– No low-neck lines
– No shorts/pants visible on camera
– No heavy makeup or jewelry (Wedding rings are permissible)
7. No foul language allowed.
The use of profanity in the meetings, chats or Marco Polos will not be tolerated.
